Tennis, Dinner, Wine...

Tiring day... slept for less than 3 hours the night before. Had a KTV session and I reached home only at 5am, slept at around 6am and woke up at 8am...

Was slacking at home when Guan Aik called me late morning to ask me out for Tennis session this evening at Reuters Science Park. Although it has been a while since I last played tennis and I was quite stressed, but I was quite looking forward to it. =)
This is the second time I go down to Reuters Science Park and I really liked the place. The security bounded building has a majestic, gothic look along Science Park... yet poshly designed as you stepped inside. I reached at around 5pm and I realize the company that I was playing with... My boss and bigger bosses... Paul and his wife, Christopher and Antonio. We begin with a short warm-up session before playing doubles.
Christopher was really good in Tennis, so was Paul. Generally they were all better than me but I had a fun time playing with them... It was enjoyable and they were coaching me on how to improve my strokes and backhand swings. There was a period of time that I tire myself when I played singles with Antonio... Was taking a break for the night when Guan Aik asked me to play singles with him... I told him no more and he gave a shocking reply, "Huh! That's it...!?" Ha ha, and I agreed to play with him...
The game ended around 7pm... Took a quick shower at the gym's washroom before Guan Aik drove Paul and me in his new car to Christopher's house located at one of the Condominium opposite Tiong Bahru Plaza. The condo is quite large... a nice apartment decorated with several antiques, imported furnitures mostly from Indonesia... and several Antonio's drawings. Personally I think its a great place and the living room has a nice view... the only thing that is missing is a balcony.
Had some wine and light conversation with Chris and Paul while waiting for the dinner... I realize I cant drink on an empty stomache and especially after sports. I tend to gulp the fluid and gets tipsy very fast. After two cups I was already slouching in the sofa trying to maintain my consciousness. Was watching "The Weakest Link" and I was amazed at Paul and Christopher's knowledge, they gave most of the answers before the contestants and I would say they were correct 90% of the time.

Erika and Antonio prepared the dinner... I wouldn't say its Brazilian culinary... but the preparation and style of cooking followed their home town recipes. The food was simply fantastic... Everything was nice, especially the chicken. I'm not sure what spices were added and how it was marinated, but it taste extrememly great and Guan Aik said this is the first time he ate so much chicken.
They opened 5 bottles of wine in all, one white wine before the meal while we were waiting... and 4 bottles of red wine during and after the dinner. Christopher kept urging me to drink and I was already struggling... Several times he poured the wine for me and I told him I had enough, and he jokingly replied, "You better drink it else you'll stay back for detention class and I'll open another 5 bottles.." Ha ha... I think my face and eyes must be damn red as I caught Chris and Paul looking at me on several occasions, so paiseh.
Christopher is a really nice chap and I really enjoyed chatting with him... From their conversation, I've learnt a great deal of things, which also makes me realize that there's so much that I dun noe. Spent a great deal of time chatting with them after dinner... Although I was listening and observing them most of the time, I got to know them better.. their characters, hobbies, lifestyle and past-times. By 10 plus, I was already 'lost'... drifting several times as they were chatting... It was getting late and the alcohol in my blood was making me dopey. I think they noticed it and were talking about me at some point of time.
It was finally around 11 pm when Guan Aik decided to leave that I got the chance to leave with him. Really wished to be in bed right now, so tired and my body is aching from the tennis session... Shall end my post here. =)
